It’s time to get your Halloween costumes ready for the 38th Annual Royal Oak Spooktacular featuring trick-or-treating and tons of fun for the whole family on October 23rd in Downtown Royal Oak. Parents can take their kids trick-or-treating at local businesses around downtown Royal Oak and enjoy fun family activities on Washington Street along the way. Your Spooky Passes will give kids a Spooktacular time with a logoed trick or treat bag, cider, donuts, a photo in the photobooth, face painting and they’ll get to pick a pie pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.
After Trick-or-treating, families will be invited to Washington Street for a Monster Mash Dance Party with a live DJ. A magician will also stroll the street to amaze little ones and their parents with his exciting shows. There will also be fun games set up for the kids to play like ring toss, checkers, oversized Connect 4, jumbo Jenga and more.
Spooktacular passes are available to purchase in advance and onsite the day of at the event while supplies last. Each pass will grant kids access to the bounce house, cup of cider & a donut, a pie pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, photo at the photo booth and games. Trick-or-Treating from noon – 4pm (make sure you check in by 3pm). Trick-or-Treating around to local businesses is FREE. One pass per child!
SPOOKY PASS HOLDERS: Please print your tickets in advance, this will make the line move faster. If you can’t print your passes, have them ready to scan on your smart phone. If you can’t find your pass, check your spam folder. We can also look up your tickets at check-in, but you need to show your ID. CHECK-IN is at Washington and Fifth Ave. You can check in no earlier than 12 noon, you must be checked in no later than 3pm.
Spooky Passes are for kids 12 years and younger. Parents DO NOT have to purchase a pass. All kids must be accompanied by an adult at all times. One pass per child to receive all benefits of the Spooky Pass!
Monster Mash Dance Party
The Monster Mash Dance party with a live DJ will be held on Washington and 5th Ave. Dancing is encouraged but not required.
The FREE Trick-or-Treating will take place between 1-4p.m. at local businesses around Downtown Royal Oak. There are 35 + businesses who will be participating. They will have numbers on their windows and there will be directional signage helping you along the way. If the footprint is too large for your little one, please feel free to take short cuts, but go in the same direction as everyone else. Make sure you use the crosswalks.
During trick-or-treating keep your eyes on the lookout for the pirates. When you spot a pirate, get your clue card stamped and return to check-in for your chance to win some Spooktacular prizes!
